Abrahamic Religions in Dialogue Course

Registration:
Students may register through the University of Nebraska at Omaha for credit or audit at normal tuition rates. Students may also register through Tri-Faith Initiative for a $50 fee.

RELI 1000-820 Topics in Religion and Spirituality: Abrahamic Religions in Dialogue – Origins and Foundations

This course is the first in a series of three on Abrahamic Religions in Dialogue.

What do Jews, Christians, and Muslims have in common, and how do they differ? What are their foundations and their origins?

Abrahamic Religions in Dialogue is a one-credit hour course introducing the origins and foundations – through understanding belief, behavior, and belonging – about Abrahamic religions (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam) in five sessions/modules.

Students will demonstrate their knowledge by identifying similarities and differences within and between these three classical religious traditions, and they will also be able to engage in discussion and dialogue about the three largest Abrahamic religions and their adherents in a respectful and constructive way.

This course has been designed, developed, and implemented in collaboration between faculty of UNO Religious Studies and staff of the Tri-Faith Initiative, in consultation with the Clergy Committee of the Tri-Faith Initiative.

Location: In-person on the Tri-Faith Commons OR Remote learning (Synchronous, online)

No textbook required. Students registered through University of Nebraska at Omaha (for credit or audit) will have access through the UNO CANVAS course system (with online course materials and embedded hyperlinks for additional online resources).

Students registered through a Tri-Faith Initiative will receive a PDF or a series of PDFs, with course materials, including embedded hyperlinks for online resources.

Computer and internet access will be necessary to participate in the course.
