Joint event at Countryside Community Church
Join us for a special screening of “The Last Prairie” with documentary filmmaker and Creighton University professor John O’Keefe. The event includes a Q&A session with O’Keefe following the screening.
“The Last Prairie” offers an intimate portrait of the Sandhills, presented through the voices of three different communities: ecologists who study the region’s biodiversity; people who live and work there; and Native Lakota people whose ancestors were killed to make way for American westward expansion.
O’Keefe is a Professor of Theology and Journalism at Creighton University. The documentary filmmaker is also co-founder of the Backpack Journalism project, a social justice filmmaking initiative.
The screening is part of Countryside Community Church’s Recharge Wednesday programming, and is open to all. The Nursery is available for children 3 and under. Older children may attend the screening or attend children’s Bible classes.
