This is the second course in a series of three on Abrahamic Religions in Dialogue.

Abrahamic Religions in Dialogue – Crusades, Holocaust, and Interfaith Relations is a one-credit hour course introducing the Crusades, the Holocaust, and their impact on relations between Jewish, Christian, and Muslim groups in the past and today in five sessions/modules. These modules will cover various topics, including how religious groups understand “holy war,” 20th century anti-Semitism and religious change, and more positive interfaith models like al-Andalus.

Students will demonstrate their knowledge by identifying how historical conflict and catastrophe impact interreligious relations as well as self-understanding and identity.

This course has been designed, developed, and implemented in collaboration between faculty of UNO Religious Studies and staff of Tri-Faith Initiative.
